This asbestos awareness course is for anyone who may encounter asbestos-containing materials during their work, particularly those working in buildings built or refurbished before 2000.
It is suitable for construction workers, tradespeople, maintenance teams, electricians, plumbers, decorators, facilities staff and other professionals who may work in environments where asbestos could be present.
The course is designed to help learners understand the risks associated with asbestos and what to do if they suspect asbestos-containing materials are present. It does not qualify learners to remove or work directly with asbestos.
Learners will gain the knowledge needed to recognise potential asbestos risks in the workplace and understand how to respond safely when asbestos-containing materials are suspected.
By completing the course, learners will understand:

- The main types of asbestos and where they may be found
